WebMay 1, 2024 · Perinatal loss is common—an estimated 10 percent to 20 percent of recognized pregnancies end in miscarriage, typically defined as the end of a pregnancy up to 20 weeks of gestation. A further 1 percent of pregnancies are lost to stillbirth, which occurs after 20 weeks. Such losses, though common, are often invisible. WebIn 2024, the Scottish Government launched a programme of work to increase the provision of perinatal mental health services to women in Scotland.
