WebIn July of 2016, the City of Cambridge purchased the last section of the Watertown Branch Rail line that runs from Concord Avenue to the Fitchburg Commuter rail line. This right-of-way is parallel to New Street and runs behind the Fresh Pond Mall. Design funding of $350,000 has been identified in Community Preservation Act Funds. WebCurrently the cost to run this service is supplemented by the cities of Fitchburg and Leominster for the Veterans who live there. The shuttle is also open to the general public. Seniors and the disabled receive a discount. ‘MART’ operates and maintains four park-and-ride facilities along the MBTA Fitchburg Commuter Rail line.
