WebDec 22, 2024 · I have used Featureworks when opening STEP files. Now all of a sudden I do not have Featureworks. It is checked to startup when I start Solidworks but it is not in any of the menues and I cannot find it anywhere to run it. It will not even run Import Diagnostics. It used to do this automatically after I opened a STPE file but now it does not.

WebIF that model is not importing as a solid, check your import settings (steps 3 & 4 from the guide you linked to). If you build a model on top of the STL file, that's fine. BUT, be very careful to NOT make any relationships to the imported model. Otherwise you won't be able to delete the mesh later, and the file will always be terrible to work on.
